画筆 - 隈取筆
Kumadori-Fude
This brush is for blotting ink or paint. The tip of the brush is round and slightly hard, and it is characterized by its ability to hold a large amount of water. It is used in “Kumadori（隈取り）,” one of the expression techniques of Japanese-style painting, to add shading to previously painted colors by adding a lot of water to the brush, or to blur previously painted colors by rubbing the brush without water to create a three-dimensional effect.
