Every year, Kumano Town holds the “Brush Festival,” a major annual event where Kumano, the brush city, brings its heart and soul to all those involved in the culture of using brushes and to the nature that gives us brushes.
However, in 2020, due to the impact of the new Corona, we have cancelled the event. As a replacement, we held an online brush festival “Kumano Virtual Brush Festival” in 2020, and as one of the festival contents, we released “Hajimete no Picture Letter Course”. We were also involved in the creation of the content, so we would like to introduce it here.

First Picture Letter Course
In this video “Hajimete no Etegami Koza” (First Picture Letter Course), Yuko Ueno, a picture letter instructor, explains how to write picture letters for those who have never written picture letters before and for those who would like to start writing picture letters. The course is designed for those who have never written picture letter before and for those who would like to start writing picture letter. The content of the lecture will begin with an introduction of what kind of tools are needed, followed by a two-part picture letter course, using the simple subject of “apple” for children and the slightly more difficult subject of “chestnut” for adults.
